Default Dimensions of Electro Scan

Hi all,

Must be blind, but can't find the actual dimensions of the unit
anywhere in the Owner's Manual PDF or the Promo Sheet PDF on the
Raritan site.

Anyone be kind enough to point out where I can get them?

Thanks,

Mike.

Dimensions are on the promo sheet

the drawing in the upper left corner of page 2.

Default Dimensions of Electro Scan

Hi Peggy,

Thanks -

Another question - how would you recommend plumbing the electro-scan to
include:

- a small holding tank
- ability to bypass the electro-scan and pump straight out when
offshore - to save power

Thanks,

Mike.

I'd go from toilet to Electro Scan...y-valve to tank or
thru-hull...discharge from tank to same thru-hull.

This would mean all flushes would go through the L/S, but you wouldn't
have to run it for urine only...you'd only have to run it when solids
and/or TP are flushed. For solids that should only mean one
flush/day/person. Since women use TP for solids AND urine, it would only
mean that the TP would have to go into the trash instead of flushing it.

That said, the power consumption isn't that much. 1.5 AH/flush sounds a
bit scary, but it typically only amounts to about 7.5 AH/day/person even
if it runs after every flush...15/day for a cruising couple. You'd have
to be cutting your 12v power resources really close to the bone not be
able to spare that much per day. Otoh, if you have 4 kids along, it's a
different story.

Thanks Peggie,

Glad to help. Have you looked at the PuraSan? Costs less...uses about
half the power...and will work in eithe fresh water or salt water.

The only downside: the chlorine cartridge costs about $90 including
shipping to replace and is pretty much only available directly from
Raritan 'cuz it has to be shipped HAZMAT. You'd prob'ly need about one a
year if you're cruising.

Otoh, reaplacing the electrode pack in a Lectra/San or Electro Scan
costs a LOT more (PuraSan doesn't have one). And if you have a
watermaker, you can flush with fresh water without any need to add salt,
which eliminates all the other, mineral buildup and other issues
associated with raw water toilets in salt water.

Just something for you to consider.
