Default TennTom Bigby Waterway: Houseboat Rental Availability?

Hello Everyone,

As a domestic alternative to a south of France canal barge trip, I was
pondering the feasibility of renting of a houseboat for a week of travel
on the Ten-Tom Bigby Waterway.

Does anyone know if this is a reasonable idea? Are there houseboats
available? Best time of year to avoid bad (too hot, too cold, too
stormy) weather and bugs? What services are available, and is it scenic?
