What courtesy flag do you need to fly in the Turks and Caicos? Is the red
duster acceptable or do you need the T&C specific flag? -- Geoff |

Red duster was quite satisfactory the last time we were there.

Chuck,
Thanks. I probably have 20-30 other country flags and am tired of shelling out $20-$25 per flag. -- Geoff P.S. Is this Chuck and Susan? Some flags would be quite easy to do that way. P.S. Is this Chuck and Susan? "chuck" wrote in roups.com: Red duster was quite satisfactory the last time we were there. Most countries expect their own flag. In some cases it makes clearing
customs & immigration a lot quicker. TCI is an overseas territory of the UK and you can certain use the UK's flag but I believe you'll get a friendlier reception flying a TCI courtesy flag. Cap'n Ric |

I've cleared in there in both Provo and Grand Turk on different occasions and customs/immigration has never come near the boat. In fact, it's rather a long walk from the anchorages to customs, and on Grand Turk they seemed astonished that someone would actually sail a boat there from Bermuda. In my experience in the Bahamas and Caribbean it's pretty unusual for customs/immigration to leave their air-conditioned office. We fly the red duster in the TCI. Jack http://www.ganssle.com/jack/ |
