Do you know of any brokers that will take a CC? When I
bought my boat, and when I bought my wife a new car I asked
if I could use a CC. They both snickered and said no. I
wanted the points and I had enough credit.

Brokers for used boats, nope. Dealers, on the other hand, have the card
logos proudly displayed on the front door, expecting you to buy parts and
stuff from their ship's store with it. I DO think it would be really fun
to walk into a bigshot dealer's showroom and buy a 50' yacht with a
bigshot VISA, just to see the look on their faces....(c;

.....OR AT A BOATSHOW!

BTW, get a Capital One, or any of the dozen or so cards that
offer a free year at 0% APR.

APR means nothing to me as I pay it off when the bill comes in every
month. It's just a convenience for me, not a terrible way to get a loan.
I haven't had a "balance" in years...well, once when I forgot to pay it
off they soaked me for a month but I talked my way out of the penalty
because I've been doing business with them since 1988....

Taking a high dollar credit card to a boatshow seems something like
tempting a televangelist preacher with a 12-year-old blonde bombshell...
(c; Not a good idea, at all... Best way to go to a boatshow is with
just your car keys and driver's license in your pocket, leaving all that
money and credit AT HOME!

the Chevy dealers also diplay the cards on their doors, but
none would take a CC for a new car.

My Ford dealer took my American Express for a new Ford Explorer. Paid it
off when I got the bill/

I guess that only applies to bankrupt Chevy dealers...hee hee. These days,
none of them could afford NOT to take a credit card to unload that pig in
the parking lot.

Call the CC company and complain. They will make them take it or revoke
there CC authorization.
