In my search for replacement boat windshields for my bass boat I discovered
that there aren't a lot of options. You can go to the original manufacturer through a dealer if it is a very recent model, but if its more than a few years old or the model has changed you can be out of luck. Cabelas.com has a line of generic replacements, but their selection is very limited and if they don't have one close to your size you are stuck making spacers or doing without. I found a company called ACE Acrylics in Irving, Texas that will make custom replacements. I am sending my one good windshield to them to duplicate and return. I would not normally have posted a message like this except in my search for "replacement boat windshield" I ran across several message boards where people had posted requests for replacements and stated they could not even find somebody to make one. I figured that ACE's price seemed reasonable at $75-80 each for Acrylic or $95 each for polycarbonate. Obviously flat panel aluminum frame windshields are easy to replace, but custom or semi-custom shaped free standing windshields can be difficult. -- Bob La Londe Yuma, Az http://yumabassman.4t.com |
