Nope....RADAR cannot compare to an active AIS system, especially if there is an active, well-maintained shore installation along the coast, instantly plotting all the navaids current positions, obstructions long before the bureaucracy could ever crank out a notice to mariners. I see a time in the near future where RADAR displays and AIS displays are overlaid for verification. It will be a great help to navigation and safety. |
