Perkins 4-108 question?
What is it?
Starboard side of the block towards the rear is a small petcock valve with the tubing crimped off. It is leaking oil. Thanks - Allen PS there is a hose barb screwed into the front/bottom of the oil pan. It looks cross threaded. Was it a bolt thread that the pipe thread has been forced into? Thanks again - Allen |

Thanks again - Allen That small petcock is for draining the coolant from the block, if it is like the one on my 4-108, and if you got oil coming out of it you got a serious problem. The one on the Oil Pan usually is for draining the LubeOil from the OilPan, and in most cases has a valve associated with it, or the hose connected to it has an elevated end above the level of the Block, to keep the LubeOil in, untill one lowers it to drain the LubeOil into a bucket in the bildge, during Oil Changes.
