Default Hello all, I am new

My husband and I own two sailboats, in Baltimore MD.
I am wondering if this is an appropriate group to let people know that
we are selling one of the boats.
If so, she is a 1963 Philip Rhodes Chesapeake 32' named the Fantasy
Dreamer.
We have a webpage to view all the details about her.

http://www.usecashtobuyit.com/fdforsale.html

Our other boat, that we completely restored - it was land sinking about
three years ago - is a 1972 33' Carter. I am hoping to put totgether a
webpage about the whole project in the near future and will gladly post
it then. It was a PROJECT to say the least.

Thanks

It is strictly forbidden by the charter and frowned upon by most
regulars. The penalty is a 1% share of the proceeds to all regular
posters in the group.

It isn't, but I see you didn't let that stop your from barging ahead without
a by-your-leave..

I suggest rec.boats.marketplace

Also check www.sailingtexas.com
Free adds.
They cover a LOT more than just Texas.

Hey all,
I am so sorry that crossed bounderies. I figured there nothing wrong
with letting other boaters/cruisers know of a boat for sale. Oh well...
in the large scheme of things there are bigger things to be concerned
with in life, huh? I suppose it should be a moderated group. I'll look
into the other group suggested.

Who has imaginary boats?
That sounds like an interesting topic.

Wow! Some of these google groups have some angry folks- I've noticed.
Hey, don't knock it- I am an auhtor with a book to promote- so
basically I let everyone know. But other than that I'm also a sailor,
with lots of sailing experiences on the Chesapeake Bay and my husband
and I happened to have one boat for sale -OH well.

No need for people to get disturbed.

If I'm not welcome in this group, I'll happily go away.

Karolina

Nonsense. If you had wanted to ask before posting your ad, you would have
asked before posting your ad. Don't give us that dumb and happy crap. You're
in the business of selling your book on the Internet. You knew damned well
this wasn't the place for an ad.

I suspect she knew damned well this wasn't the place for it, but figured she
might get the exposure without the criticism if she played the wide-eyed
dummy. People like that deserve no mercy.

Aren't you a lawyer? Thought everyone was innocent until proven guilty!

If she were charged with a crime, yes. But the rule doesn't apply to bad
manners.

I thought that rule only applied to paying clients whos check didn't
bounce...(c;

There isn't, in the appropriate place.

What you did is like putting "FOR SALE" ads in other
people's yards just because they live along a busier street.
I mean, what's the harm in that?

Oh well...
in the large scheme of things there are bigger things to be concerned
with in life, huh? I suppose it should be a moderated group.

If one presupposes that people cannot follow principles on
their own, then yes.

I wonder if the boat she's selling is that one caught fire
from faulty wiring and they just painted over it to hide the
scorch marks? That was a shame.

If you post appropriately we'll be glad to have you. If you want to post
ads, please do go away.

Don't mind Dave, sounds like he's having a bad hair day. That said,
this is supposed to be a non-commercial forum.
