With 20 years of such trips, the really cheap trade items only work in
the most remote areas (Baja for example). I used to trade fresh water for lobster, but now it is at least T-shirts, baseball caps, and often hard cash. PLEASE do not trade for undersized bugs, as the panga fisherman sell their big ones to the co-ops and try to off the little ones on passing cruisers. Insist on legal size (though technically you are illegal even to trade for them if a non-Mexican). |
