Pacific Singlehanded Sailing Association meeting Monday 10th
Reminder: The April meeting of the Pacific Singlehanded Sailing
Association is this coming Monday the 10th, 8 pm at Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club in Marina Del Rey. Non members are welcome! Go to pssala.org for the gory details and to check us out! Every once in a while a boat with an extra hull or two appears on the race course, welcome of course. From time to time a phone call comes in, and the question is asked - "are multi-hulls allowed in your club?" Well of course they are. Equal opportunity sailing, that's what we're about. We're open minded. Well maybe, but it is good from time to time to make sure. So along comes Anthony Clarke, our April speaker, who will extole the virtues of multi-hulls, and challenge our great love of auxillary gas or diesel engines, who will tell us about his twelve part television project about biofueled sailing craft, entitled Around the World on French Fries. And if you are just set in your ways, one hull, fossil fuel forever, then he'll have some footage of the Queen's Birthday Storm in the Pacific [Tasmania]. Something different, something for everyone. The Upcoming Race - Catalina to Port Our next race will be sailed on a course that is new to the club, or at least that has not been sailed in recent years - the Catalina to Port Race. This is the fourth of the five race Dan Byrne Series. It will be sailed on April 15th. Details on the web site. [pssala.org] Again, everyone's welcome to our meetings [and our races]! {Note: you can also sail in our "doublehanded" division.} |
