Default Install galley foot pump

I have a Dana 24 and want to install a fresh (sea) water foot pump in
the galley. Am curious if I should just put a new thru hull in the
sink area or attempt to run a hose from the existing sea water inlet
line (goes to head). If I am not mistaken this line also feeds the
engine intake as well.

Routing a new hose seems like a bit of a challenge getting to the
under the sink area;where a thru hull would be a lot easier.

Besides having a sea cock on the thru hull is there anything else I
need prior to connecting to the pump? Strainer?

Sound like you are almost ready for a sea box, a single inlet with
several outlets, It can incorperate a filter, hopefully easy to clear
when plugged.

Another seacock won't hurt, but it's getting onerous with 3 to
maintain.

Filter for plasic bags and seaweed. Sea water is sea water.

I mounted my intake thru hull for my galley forward of the head and on the
opposite side of the hull. Tried to get as much seperation from the head
discharge as possible.
