Default Drive line updates and request for antifoul experience

Many thanks to all who replied to my threads on Drive Saver/equivalents
and line cutters. We've gone to a Drive Saver (the type with two
straps for fail-safe operation should the flexible part fail), or
perhaps just a spacer, both chosen for a serenipitous find in the
boatyard, and a Prop Protector (the simplest possible one - just a
razor sharp disk protruding from the prop hub or zinc, which ever is
nearer), based on lack of failure modes and a very positive PS report.
It looks a bit as though we'll have to do some alignment before we lock
it down...

However, and I apologize in advance because this has probably been
covered here before, and maybe even recently, the cutter manufacturer
strongly recommends using marine growth inhibition - on all but the
very edge of this razor disk.

Our boat had bottom paint applied to the MaxProp just before we bought
it; the 1-hour or so drive to and from the marina where it was
installed in the course of it going back to the slip and back, being
hauled for survey, took nearly all of it off (see the survey pix in the
URL below if it's interesting to you). So, I'm confident that typical
bottom paint isn't nearly aggressive enough.

I believe I recall either a 2 or 3-part epoxy preparation as being
successful in this endeavor. I can make that prop and hub shine like a
new penny in prep. Can anyone tell me of success in this sort of
antifoul? One doesn't want to be chipping or scrubbing away at this
disk, either because you'll lose a finger, or whack the edge with a
tool, shortening the time before it would need sharpening, so I'm
concerned...

And, we're very close to splashing, so need to do something relatively
soon (well, in a matter of weeks - but I'm only here for another 10
days, and back only a few days before we'd very much like to be in the
water for the Morgan Invasion).

Thanks if you can shed any light; these lists have been invaluable to
us as we round third, heading for home.

We've tried just about every type of preparation on our MaxProp, and
what works is using the motor. We tried the anhydrous lanolin, and
the Desitin and the anti-fouling paint, and the paint with hot pepper,
and TBT paint. None of them stick on the metal if you use the boat.
