Default chrysler nissan 105hp 6?

I'm tending and outfitting an Islander Freeport with the above engine.
I rebuilt a couple of diesels years back. Hopefully I'll get her
running this weekend. Other than the obvious I have very little
knowlege of this motor and I haven't been able to Gooogle up much...
someone said parts are difficult/impossible to find, "yank 'em
immediately! don't want to be stuck for want of a part", But it's a
shame to waste such a piece of iron ( fresh rebuild on the injector
pump! ).
Can any one throw me some pointers? Are there many of them out there?
Specs? Surely the starter motor cross refences to other motors. Ways to
fabricate/modify other parts?
ta,

This is a very common engine that uses many common parts. Chrysler marketed
this as a marine engine in the US, but it was sold all over the word for
vehicle power in trucks and buses as well as generators. Any Bosch service
center will service the injectors and PT pump. I use one as a generator
engine. Forget Chrysler as a service source. Use Nissan Motors. The flywheel
housing is generic as well as all the accessories. I converted mine to 24
volt. What problem.

Thanks again Steve. Can you point me to generic suppliers? The starter
for instance seems a little dodgy and it would be nice to have spares
aboard.

ta,

I have the 62 hp 4 cylinder version and like it a lot. I have never
had any problem getting parts from local diesel supply stores. If you
have any problem with parts, let me know and I will send you the
address of my supplier in Padacha, Kentucky. If you decide to yank
your 105, just send it to me.
