Many yacht clubs rent their slips and particularly their moorings to
transient boaters just like a commercial marina. You do not need to be a
member of a reciprocating yacht club to do this. And even if you are a
member of a reciprocating club, you may have to pay like anyone else.

There are a few yacht clubs that only provide slips or moorings to
reciprocating club members.

Some cruising guides to fairly remote places close a chapter by saying
things like, "limited facilities may be found at the Sterling Gnurl
Yacht Club" and such. How does this work? Can any yabo tie their
****-stained craft to the pier having survived a crossing? Do you need
reciprocity with your own club (right,..)? I got lost and tied at the
Victoria Yacht Club once but was fended away from the landing by a man
in a Beefeater costume. smooth sailing lads.

If you are cruising in Australia gratis reciprocity is alive and well as
long as it is not abused. Occasionally a small fee is required re showers.
