They only should be called pilot houses when they contain a separate and more or less enclosed steering station, although quite a few of those are just hard dodgers on steroids. R. |

I didn't know I would have so many words to choose from :-) In the UK it's mostly called the coachroof or cabin top, with the raised part at the rear being the doghouse, deckhouse, or wheel house.
