Default Cruising boat wanted!

20-35ft seaworthy sailboat. Capable of long offshore passages. Does not
need to have any electronics, engine, interior luxuries, but it needs
to have a strong rig and good sails. Under $12000!Desperate to sail to
south pacific. Anything considered. In Florida now looking.Email

I think I'd recommend crewing on someone else's boat.
I'd be nervous sailing a $12k boat across the Pacific.

I have a Cal 29 in Seattle, but it has electronics and luxuries--like an
engine and a stove. I know of at least one that made the trip from here.
Of course, even if I gave it to him, he would use up his 12 grand outfitting
it. Wouldn't have to go through the canal though.

Gonna be a long trip via Cape Horn or Cape of Good Hope, Cape Leeuwin,
Tasmania, NZ to get there.

Seeing as how you aren't allowed thru the Panama Canal under sail, that
is.
