Recommend guidebooks for NYS canal and Intracoastal Waterway?
 

Our skipper's looking at heading south for the winter, going down the
canal from Oswego.

I told him I'd look into acquiring the necessary guidebooks. In our
Great Lakes cruising so far, we've appreciated the PORTS books and
Ports of Call for Lake Erie.

What guidebooks do you recommend for the NYS Canal and the
Intracoastal Waterway and stuff in between?

Also, if you've done some or all of this trip, have you got any
essential pieces of advice?

We draw about 6 feet. Where is that going to be an issue?

Haven't seen this myself so I can't vouch for it one way or the other.

The one book you really must have for the NYS canal system is he

It is excellent and indispensable.

There are many good guides for the ICW, too many to list, but we have
found the "Skipper Bob" books to be invaluable:

Hi Louise,

We just published a new cruising guide to the Intracoastal Waterway
that covers Norfolk to Miami. Since it's new it's up-to-date and
includes 349 marinas, 283 anchorages, and as a bonus...192 marine
stores for when that part breaks along the way :-)
