Default Electronic Charts

I have recently upgraded to The Capn Mosaic, version 8, which can display
vector charts, both DNC and ENC vector charts. Does anybody have experience
using these vector charts? Which vector type, DNC or ENC, is best for
navigation?

I am impressed by the Capn 8 ability to allow the raster digital charts to
appear "transparently" over the vector chart.

I've been using the NOAA ENC charts with Fugawi ENC. They don't look
like the traditional charts, but with a little practice you can get a
lot more information out of them. Best of all, they're a free download
off the NOAA web site. Coverage is incomplete, but constantly
improving.

Can you please provide the URL at the NOAA web site where you got your
charts?

Does NOAA also provide software for those charts, as in a viewer?

I don't know, but to make them useful you really need nav software
that will also talk to your GPS.
