Sailing experience

I have just finished my "Day Skipper tidal " and am looking for some
crewing experience and sea miles on yachts in September and October. I
am semi retired so can easily balance work and time away. I am male 52
and very practical with lots of technical background inc engines having
had a glider repair business for the past 8 years. I now want to gain
experience prior to boat ownership. I would be interested in long
distance boat deliveries should a skipper require help.

I know next to nothing about flying and am probably showing my ignorance
with this question, but why would a person need a technical background in
engines if he had a _glider_ repair business?

Good luck and good sailing.

Because the backbone of a glider business is the plane that tows them
up in the air. It's brutal service for an aircraft engine so they
need lots of TLC.
