Default Dry Straight, Alaska crossing

Have you ever crossed this body of water between Wrangell and
Petersburg? I'm in a cruiser that draws 3' and want to cut acrosss here
to see LeConte glacier without going all the way around Wrangell Narrows
like I did last year. Ideas?

Look for a 20' tide in the tide book, and PRAY...............
