Question for Peggy Hally
Peggy:
My Mansfield Vacuflush will not hold vacuum. If I put about two inches of water in the bowl it goes dry in less then an hour and then the pump cycles. I have tried cleaning the inside surface against which the ball seals with soap and water but it has not helped. Do you have nay suggestions. TIA. Fred |

A new "ball, shaft and cartridge kit" should solve the problem. Btw...your toilet is at least 20 years old...the Mansfield brand name was changed to SeaLand in 1984 when SeaLand Technology bought out the marine toilet division of Mansfield Plumbing. So no part #s you have are still current, but most parts haven't changed. Call SeaLand on Tues...800-321-9886. And as long as you're doing some maintenance, I'd replace the duckbill valves (4 of 'em) in the vacuum pump too. And get a current owners manual for it. Not only will that give you current part #s and exploded drawings, but just about every possible symptom, probable causes and cures that a VacuFlush can develop is covered in it. -- Peggie ---------- Peggie Hall Specializing in marine sanitation since 1987 Author "Get Rid of Boat Odors - A Guide To Marine Sanitation Systems and Other Sources of Aggravation and Odor" http://69.20.93.241/store/customer/p...40&cat=&page=1 http://shop.sailboatowners.com/detai...=400&group=327 |
