My app Marine Tool has been updated to version 1.3.

It has been updated with these new features since I posted the last time:

Course corrections(to map from compass and to compass from map)
Nav Station, GPS info
Wind conversion. Includes beaufort.
Distance between GPS coordinates using haversine formula.
Full iPad support.
Improved keyboard

Marine tool is a top selling calculator, convertor, planner and navigation tool for all sailors.
This app contains many useful functions for sailors on water and for those who are at home planning their next trip..


• Nav Station with GPS and compass information. Current position. Speed over ground in knots, kilometers per hour, miles per hour and meters per second. Course over ground from compass, magnetic and true north are shown. Accuracy information. Distance between gps fixes. Altitude.


• Course correction. To map from compass and from compass to map. Magnetic variation. Magnetic deviation. Leeway/wind effect. Current effect. Speed of advance estimated through a calculation that takes into account the current speed and direction comparing it to your course.


• Distance between two GPS locations. Distance in knots, kilometers and miles. Initial and final compass bearing. Midpoint coordinates.


• Wind conversion. Supports m/sek, knot, mph, km/h and Beaufort scale. With each wind condition comes a description; the expected wave height, sea and land conditions.


• Time, distance and speed planner. Plan your route from the expected boat speed, target distance or time availability.
Once you know 2 out of 3(time/distance/speed) Marine Tool calculates the last one for you.


• Distance calculator to lighthouse, horizon or other object within the distance. Support for feet/meter and knot, miles and kilometers. How far away is the horizon when you are on deck ? How far away will you be able to see an object with a height of 25 meter/ 80 feet ?


• Convert speed. Supports knots, kilometers per hour and miles per hour.


• Convert distance. Supports nautical miles, kilometers and miles.
