My opinion about cruising is that those who have to take the land-based
lifestyle along with them on the water should just stay home. The reasons
for this are obvious.

1) Those who can't cruise simply but have to have a boatload of lubberly
systems will not be happy cruising

2) Those who can't cruise simply but have to have a boatload of lubberly
systems will end up making those of who DO cruise simply miserable.


Those of us who do it right get sick and tired of the following:

1) Noisy wind generators, gasoline generators, diesel generators, etc.
which rudely run at any and all hours, day and night.

2) Inflatables roaring back and forth through the anchorage ten or
twenty times a day chasing parts for broken systems.

3) Dogs barking all day and all night. (leave the animal at the pound)

4) Loud music.

5) The shouting from bow to stern from the anchor "team". Hey, it only
takes one person to anchor a boat, you morons you!

6) The running of the smelly auxiliary to top off the batteries when
the wind won't blow or the sun doesn't shine.

7) Television(s) running half the day causing number six.

8) Radar running half the day causing number six.

9) VHF radios with the volume so high that it would wake the dead.

10) Assholes sitting in the cockpit getting drunk and rowdy
and shouting loudly every inane thing that pops into their
drunken brains.


Get a clue people. Leave the shore side vices and distractions ashore where
they belong. When you're on the water try to act like a normal human being
even if living ashore for so long has caused you to forget what it is to be
human. Better still, STAY HOME and LEAVE ME BE!
