The name of his boat is YaHoo and he has pirate flags painted on it. Correction: The boat's name is Yoo Hoo. |

I'm sure you know this but be careful in Ocean World. If it blows up out of the N it can get a bad surge in there. I've know boats to pop fenders and have to leave in the night. Capt. Bill |

Yes, we've heard about that. Right now the weather is quite stable and we're leaving tomorrow for Luperon. We'll stay there a few days and then head back north to the Turks and Caicos. In Samana we stayed at the new marina just west of town called Puerto Bahia, a very nice facility and management is eager to please. We met just about everyone including the owner. Are you on a delivery? |

Are you on a delivery? No. The boat I run is based in Palmas for a while longer. In a few months we will start to head south. Then through the canal to Costa Rica. |

As an FYI, we were able to get diesel at the cruise ship dock in Dominica for about $2.50/US gallon (by appoinment on days with no cruise ship). They have a sign posted with the phone number. Fuel was good quality. Green Cay marina in St Croix has good prices also, $3/gallon. |

Thanks for the fuel price updates. The fuel here in Palmas is $2.75 a gal. Where do you stay in the T&Cs? |

Where do you stay in the T&Cs? South Side Marina about 2 miles east of Provo. http://www.southsidemarina-tci.com/ A very friendly and accomodating place, although limited to about 5 1/2 ft draft on the entrance channel. We stayed there on the way south and will go back again later this week. |

Try a sailboat and break free from all that lubberly crap. Or, better yet, stay home and stop polluting the environment with your stinkpots. Wilbur Hubbard |

We spend over 90% of our time anchored out but recognize that marinas offer very useful services at times. On our way south we needed supplies and repairs in the Turks and Caicos, both of which were greatly facilitated by South Side Marina. They are also an official port of entry with a customs officer always on call which is a major convenience. In the Domican Republic the big marinas also offer assistance with on site customs and immigration which is particularly helpful when you are dealing with a language barrier plus a complex and somewhat corrupt system. |
