If any of you are looking for good, free charting software, the
developers of OpenCPN have just announced the availability of release1.3.4, available he http://sourceforge.net/projects/opencpn/ I have already installed in on two of my PCs, one XP and one Vista, both are working well. The new release adds a very nice track logging feature with import and export of logs, and fully adjustable logging intervals by either time or distance. It is a quick download and easy install. |

Charts can be downloaded freely from NOAA -- see http://sail.navas.us/#Charts -- Best regards, John Navas, publisher of Navas' Sailing & Racing in the San Francisco Bay Area http://sail.navas.us/ |

Are international charts available for this program? If so, in what form are they? Cheers, Bruce (bruceinbangkokatgmaildotcom) |

Open CPN will work with any chart in BSB raster format (looks like a normal paper chart), or in the S57 Vector format which looks more like a typical GPS/chart plotter display. |
