Want a small diesel setup...

Anyone know of a reasonably priced source for a small (12 to 15 HP) diesel
engine and transmission?

Craigslist is your friend!

www.craigslist.com

Start in your area and work your way outward....

If a man goes way out into the woods all alone and says something,
is it still wrong, even though no woman hears him?

Tell me where you live and I'll look it up on Craiglist for you and then
post it here. Do you have internet access problems?

The problem with something that heavy is that you can't make it
economical unless it's in your area. I don't know where you live. If you
have internet access, type "craigslist.org" into your web browser and
then select the closest city to you. In the search field type "diesel."
Scroll through them and you'll find a few in far less time then it's
taken you to write and read this thread.

I'm curious as to why you would assume I haven't already done that, isn't it?
Craigslist is handy for some things, but it doesn't cover everything.
Nor everywhere.
Nor does the net. (believe it or not)

So, I put a short simple note here.

Texas coast would be the place to look.
(and I have)

A marinized Kubota, try Beta.

Probably more than you want to pay, but that's life.

Check boat salvage businesses. There were a lot of wrecked sailboats
down there recently.

Other then the obvious "I wanna put it in a boat" why are you looking
for a motor? The old one broke? Or building a new boat?
