What is the right procedure when you find a kink in a two years old 5/16” OD
forestay? Would you replace the forestay or challenge it?

A kink is a well known form of abuse, and extracts a known percentage
of the strength. If the stay was considerably oversize, maybe you can
keep it. A matter for calculation.

Remember, a Daisy Chain is only as strong as it's weakest Kink.
