Default swede 38

Hi all,

First post ever!

I hope you can help.

I am thinking of buying a swede 38, but can not find any information
at all on this yacht, do any of you know about this yacht?
What is she like to sail?

I plan to take her to spain from the uk, would this be ideal?

It looks pretty good to me, but i have never heard of this boat
before.
It was designer by kjaenulff and elvstrum
What price would you pay for one roughly?
But more importantly what do you think?

I hope you can help.

many thanks

Well, there's a reference to this guy:

Bert Johansson. Bert lives in Uppsala and often goes to Åland and
Finland with his Swede 38. A great expert on fishing.

Maybe the owner of the web site could put you two in touch.

Thanks for this steve, however u can't find anyway on contacting bert,
no links or phone numbers on the website.

Any ideas on where i can go from here?

Thanks again.

cheers

Default swede 38

Hi

I have owned a swede 38 for the past 2 years. It´s a great boat that sails
well. This year our summer vacation went from Copenhagen to Oslo and back.
Part of the trip I sailed the boat my self, part of the trip I was joined
by my wife and two daughters (aged 9) and part of the trip the four of us
was joined by my brother in law and his two daugthers.

Last year the engine blew up, so I had a new yanmar 2gm20fc fitted. This
winter I am going to change the rudderbearings due to wear. Other than
that I haven´t had any serious problems.

I read about a chap that took his sweede from Denmark to the Crribian and
back. He had to change two of the hatches, as they where leaking, and he
had the check stays fitted, as the mast had a tendency tho "pump" back and
forth if there was a really big swell.

I have seen Swedes being sold at prices ranging from 42-50.000 £ depending
on condition and equipment.

Personally I wouldn´t hessitate sailing the boat from spain to the UK, as
long as you have all the vitals checked thoroughly before leaving/buing.

Sincerely Yours

Carsten
