Default Best Anchorage in Miami FL Area

Suggest that best anchorage when in Miami area is in side canals in
Venetian Isles. The area can be approached from west or east:

From west: just N of Venetian Causeway bridge, when in ICW soutbound,
turn east, but watch depths and shoals. You will be on N side of
Ventian Isles.
From east: go N thru McCarthur Causeway Bridge, just E of Coast Guard
station and N of Miami Beach Marina, and just N of bridge turn west,
but watch depths and shoals -- and "cables" areas on charts. You will
be in middle canal of Venetian Isles.

Typical water in side canals is 6-8+ feet at low tide with great
holding in mud bottom.

Any of side canals is quiet, calm. But please keep noise to minimum in
consideration of occupants of nearby houses.

On Memorial Day weekend, only one other boat was at anchor in all of
Ventian Isles' canals.
