Good marine refrigerators?
While I'm scoping out the problem with my Norcold DE-561 (TEK II Dual
electric), I'll be looking at some new marine models. Much of what I've seen in this and other groups is disparaging of Norcold. Any suggestions for a replacement brand? This one is around 7 cubic feet and has two outer doors (freezer/fridge) Jim |

This one is around 7 cubic feet and has two outer doors (freezer/fridge) Generally, just about everybody in marine refrigeration is using the new Danfoss 35 or 50 series compressors. Better efficiency than previous models and ability to run them at different speeds if engine is running (depending on the control module the "marinizer" puts on it). There is less difference now between makers IMO cause they are all using the same building blocks. Exceptions for Glacier Bay who go their own way. -- Evan Gatehouse you'll have to rewrite my email address to get to me ceilydh AT 3web dot net (fools the spammers) |
