Default Source for Sailboat Specifications

We plan to do spend several months each year traveling rivers, lakes and
canals. An 800 mile five week trip last summer on our old Venture 25 has us
actively searching for a more roomy, trailerable motor sailer. I'm wasting
hours trying to find information about boats that I find for sale. Is there
a good comprehensive source of info online?
TIA

Don't know the Venture 25 but past 25 feet your options for "more
roomy" and "trailerable" get pretty limited...and "motor sailers" tend
to be heavier than most.

The beam limit in much of North America for trailered boats seems to
be around 8' 3" or so. That practical limit is where you might wish to
begin.

can help in terms of refining your parameters. Just plug in the legal
limit on beam and work from there, as you are unlikely to want to
obtain special permits, etc. every time you want to take the boat down
a public road.

Practial Sailor's Magazine published some books a while ago titled
_Practical_Boat_Buying_. Volume one was boats under about 30 feet. You
might try to find a copy of Volume 1.
