I got a call from the SE Regional Manager of WalMart, Inc., today in
response to my email to corporate headquarters over the price gouging of lubricating oil at Walmart. Shell Rotella T prices kept going up and up and UP for years as the price of oil skyrocketed to $145/bbl. It was 3,4,5,6,8,9,10 and ended at $11.73/gallon for 15W40 multigrade diesel oil, not some exotic synthetic. Since oil has collapsed in price, now steadily heading for $40/bbl, down $100/bbl in six months, I wanted to ask WalMart WHY the price of Rotella T, and all the rest of the oil products in their stores, had remained at the $145/bbl price point. We had a nice chat and she promised to call me back after having a conversation with WalMart's buyers and to study the wholesale price. I did express my concern that this was but one example of "price gouging" in an economic environment where the price of gold, the standard by which fake currencies like the Federal Reserve private bank corporation's US Dollar was measured. The price of gold is DOWN about 25%. PAR VALUE on all products purchased with DEFLATED dollars should ALSO DROP around 25%. Walmart can trade the fake dollars I pay for Walmart products for much more GOLD than it could 6 months ago when all this started. This results in far increased profits at the same INFLATED price points. It's time EVERYTHING dropped in price....not just the price of your house, used cars, BOAT (ON TOPIC), and other things that consumers thought had value.... Pricing lube oil from Shell based on the price of gasoline from the same refineries should be FAIR. Gas dropped by 60%....OIL should drop by 60% making my $11.73 Rotella T sell for $4.69/gallon. $11.73 is simply PRICE GOUGING on a grand scale. |

Larry, Everything dropping in price is called (gasp) deflation. That's what all the moneyed people are trying to prevent. Kinda like house prices, for instance... VB(ironic)G Richard |
