It would help us to know what material you'll build the hull from, i.e.
cold-molded strip planks, plywood, fiberglass, ferro-cement...

These are the types of things I need recommendations for. It seems
that a classical strip plank hull would be the most fun, but buying a
fiber hull might be a better investment? I'm not really sure right
now. What would you recommend for the purpose of day/weekend trips on
the Pacific? Speed is not as important to me right now.
