Default reg shape of boats..

Hi,

I and some of my friends had an opportunity to build rafts using sticks
and 4 inflated car tyres and normal ropes.

The requirement is for one person has to travel in the raft.

Of the 3 groups, 2 groups made boats of square shapes, and our group
made
a triangle shaped boat.

I want to know if a triangle shaped raft is more safer than square
shaped from a aqua dynamics point of view, for 1 person and the
reasons.

If you know any links which talks about raft/boat building, please let
me know

Please excuse me, if I have posted in a wrong alias...boat building is
also one of my hobbies, but never got an opportunity to build one..

- Murs.

If you lose one of the tires in the corners in a triangle, the shape
will start to tilt far more noticeably than if you do so on a rectangle
or square... look at ATVs. They used to be made in Trikes, but almost
all are now QUADS...primarily for safety reasons...the trikes flipped
far more easily.
