While I can't say I have any experience with what Steve is stating . . . I
am NOT surprised. It is also one of the reasons I use a LOCAL sailmaker. Regards & Good Luck, Ron Magen Backyard Boatshop "Steve" wrote in message ... Some lofts cut the sails and send it off shore for the bulk of the sewing and hand work.. Then do some in house work just to give US Customs and the customer the impression that the sail us US made. I once went into a Doyle (now UK) sail loft in San Diego to check the progress on my sail alterations.. Not a sole working in the loft and my sail was in Mex. The "Sailmaker" was the only person I ever saw in the loft on any of my three visits. However, the work was fine and reasonable. Steve s/v Good Intentions |
