kevlar canoes are not stiff. they have lots of bulky foam core ribs on the
inside so the boat will keep it shape. the ribs are a bother when trying to kneel and paddle. most "kevlar" canoes are a combination of materials with kevlar in the places where its most beneficial I've seen a book in which a one-off female mould was made by laying strips of cheap foam over station moulds and fairing with some kind of putty. Then the resin and glass were laid up in the nomral way. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ William R Watt National Capital FreeNet Ottawa's free community network homepage: www.ncf.ca/~ag384/top.htm warning: non-freenet email must have "notspam" in subject or it's returned |
