Sail dimensions
I am looking for information on how rig dimensions are written.
I see on the rig layout for my own boat that the J=13.6' and I=44.1' does that mean 13'6" and 4' 1" or 13' 7.2" and 44' 1.2"? Thanks for your help, |

Basil,
The rig dimensions are usually a lewftover from the old and un-lamented IOR. As suchm they are traditionally given in decimal feet, as that was how you waded through the rule. Steve Stephen C. Baker - Yacht Designer http://members.aol.com/SailDesign/pr...cbweb/home.htm |

It's written as decimal so 13.6' is 13 6/10 feet. If that's 13' 7.5" then
you're good to go. It is NOT 13' 6"... Pirate_Dave -- In article , Basil P wrote: I am looking for information on how rig dimensions are written. I see on the rig layout for my own boat that the J=13.6' and I=44.1' does that mean 13'6" and 4' 1" or 13' 7.2" and 44' 1.2"? Thanks for your help, |

Thanks for your help, The latter. It is written in decimal feet as you posted. Rodney Myrvaagnes J36 Gjo/a Smoking in a bar is like peeing in a punchbowl. |
