recommendations for alum. mast refinish ?

I don't know how the previous coating was applied nor what was used.

1-HOW2 prepare ?

2-Must it be taken back to bare metal for durable results ?

3-Easiest and least expensive [mutually exclusive ?] method of old
material removal ?

4-Primed, and if yes, with what ?

5-Finished with what ?

6-Sprayed or brushed, and with what ?

7-Preferred source of coating and cost ?

8-Additional source of information ?

Most gratefully,

Courtney

most certainly a moisture cured urethane - aluminum pigmented most
likely. - also ideal for boat trailers, etc.

no primer needed (the MCU is actually considered a primer too). - easy
brush on application.

cost under $40

And to see if the old and new paints are compatible, place a rag wetted with
the solvent to be used with the new paint onto an area of the old paint, and
if it lifts the old paint the two are not compatible, if it doesn't you can
prep and paint over the old paint.
