Has anyone use those materials for galley countertop or other useage on a
Sailboat.Could you give me your opinion.

There was just a thread on one of the Sailnet lists WRT Diamonite.

Here's the post (below) - the website looks very interesting.

Well, Dang. Thought I had it, and don't. I'll try to summarize. This stuff
works like wood, and is available in a variety of thicknesses. They've got a
huge variety of colors available, presized for home, or 24 and 30" widths in
a variety of lengths. Here's a link:

Avonite or Corian ......
 
In one of my current projects, I was planning to use Corian or the like, but
after i found out the weight of the stuff, I switched to laminate on
plyewood.

I, also, looked at the weight and cost of Corian and decided to go with
formica. Hard to beat Formica. I am not familiar with Avonite.

Avonite or Corian ......
 
try the formica brand of solid surfacing. Its much easier to work than
corian/and more cost effective. only downside is that it isnt as tempture
resistant as corian.
