D. A. Bamford Sailboat Information
A friend of mine purchased a 16' sail boat with a cuddy at a yard sail for $40. After a lot of cleaning and general repair he has it relatively sea worthy. It is a pretty nice boat despite the fact it had sat uncovered and neglected at someones cottage for many years. He has been motorsailing to test out the boat and did some cramped camping in the cuddy. Anyway, to get to my point he has a ways to go to get it sailable as the sail needs repair and some of the rudder/tiller are missing. The rigging looks complete but we are not sure yet. Does any one know if this builder is in business or not. I have done an extensive search of the web and have found little other than he was a small sailboat dealer/designer/builder in the 60's. I think he was around Toronto but not sure. Also any help as to where he may get parts for it. My friend has no sailing experience and intends to sail any way. I have enough experience to know that he may get into trouble and am just trying to help him get the info required to ge the boat sea worthy. Any help Appreciated TIA John Buffett -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------- Remove NOTSPAM to reply.
