Default Building Boats in Brazil.... Looking for Partners

We are a dedicated and well-experienced North American/European team
with many years in the Marine Industry who feel we have found a niche
in the boatbuilding market and can compete in the International scene
by building Yachts in Brazil. We are slated to open a 30,000-100,000
square foot facility near Recife early next year. We have a choice and
can either rent or buy the 30 acres of oceanfront (with six buildings)
- hence we are looking at possibly bringing in a partner/s or VC. We
are putting in our own capital but are entertaining the idea of
financing the property and possibly setting up a marina/boatyard
facility in conjunction with the boatbuilding operation.

The advantages of building in Brazil include a government program
allowing for duty free importation of quality marine products from
overseas for boatbuilders exporting their final product, a large pool
of talented craftspersons, competitive salaries, low cost of living,
vast array of fine products such as hardwoods, resins, composites,
fibreglass, materials and much more produced right here in this
wonderful country of over 200 million people. The climate in the
Northeast is excellent for yacht construction - and properties as well
as land are inexpensive. We have the capability to produce one-off
composite boats or work with moulds on a production line and have
access to five axis CNC tooling in Paraguay, a plethora of goods from
www.barracudatech.com.br in Sao Paulo, and plenty of raw material.

Brazil recently put a rocket into space, they build jets that compete
with Boeing and Airbus, refine uranium and are now making moves towards
joining the G8 - this is not the Third World.

Access to the market from the bulge of Brazil is approximately ten days
to Trinidad in the Caribbean and two weeks to Miami, Florida - the
heart of the global boating industry. Europe is also close with only
2500 NM miles separating Brazil and the Canary Islands and further on
to the Mediterranean.

We are looking to form a partnership with people who know and
understand the marine industry - who are aware of technology and its
impact on pleasure boating and who want to join what can be, a very
profitable adventure in Brazil.

On this website, (www.avanteyachts.com) you will find a lot of data and
visual information on our project and business plans which outline
several approaches to building a business in this enormous country,
full of potential.

We are looking at several designs and are aiming to produce
eco-friendly catamarans using diesel-electric hybrids and straight
electric drives for propusion with a line of both power and sail
catamarans. We are also conducted a lot of research into fuel cell
technology and have spoken to leading companies such as Ballard
Industries in Vancouver on the subject.

We have also set up one yard for another group in Brazil and currently
wrapping up a vessel in the south - so we are not neophytes at building
a boatyard in Brazil.
