Any tricks for pulling the plastic teleflex steering wheel. This sucker is corroded on pretty good. G I remember reading a post in one of the boat groups about using the difference in temperature between the two parts to do the work. This guy dumped ice town a metal tube that was stuck in something, waited a few minutes, and it popped right out, even after he had tried all sorts of penetrating oils. The tube cooled faster than the part it was stuck in. I think plastic expands when warm, (heat gun), after cooling the whole assembly with maybe some kind of cooling spray , or something really cold? I don't know. Hopenhelpin' Donny '74 Trojan Sea Raider 25' http://www.picturetrail.com/sixbennetts http://thebayguide.com/rec.boats/donny_bennett.html |
