Just picked up a (free) Gloucester 16 Day Sailer. Old ( 1984?), needs work.
Can't find boat Mfg., rigging info, etc. Anybody know anything about these?
Any help would be most appreciated

Gloucester 16

Is this boat also known as the Newport 16?
Someone once told me that newport bought the mold from gloucester.
Large cockpit with a small cabin below, molded in bucket and chuck it
style head in vee area of the cabin. 2 bunks built under the port and
starboard cockpit seating area.
If so I have a factory sales brochure I could scan for you

Good boat for daysailing with up to 5 people....berths about useless.

Rigging is quite standard....look at any similar boat. Swing keel winch can
cause problems on old boats.

We make sails for this boat if the old ones are shot.

Where are you located?
