broke something in steering, dont know if its cable or hydraulic steering.
dont know what if all parts need replacing. can someone please help.
1st is it hydraulic or conventional cable steering. there is a 120 force ob
on it.
2nd can it be done in a drive way
any and all help will be appreciated

It is most likely mechanical steering, Can be replaced with Teleflex type
unit. First remove the cable which is probably stuck in the outboard
steering tube. ( can be Very difficult) Look on cable for numbers which can
be crossed to length. Go to your favorite Marine supply and buy a complete
steering system. Replace everything except the steering wheel. ( the
steering wheel can also be difficult to remove)

The usual steering for OBs of this size is teleflex cable or the like.
The usual problem is the telescoping tube through the OB up pivot
freezing up with contamination. (Specially if its been lubricated)

This locks up the steering wheel. If you haven't heavy handed the
wheel so as to break the inner cable, you unscrew the big aluminum nut
on the cable side of the pivot and turn the wheel to show the inner
cable.
Squirt some releasing fluid. and patiently, PATIENTLY work the cable
drive to and fro with the nut retightened. A judici\ous smack with a
mallet plumb on the far end of the drive rod can help things along.

Patience and releasing fluid is your friend. When the steering rod
starts moving - wipe off the grunge (over n over)
