Have any of you, or anyone you may know had a poor experience with
Markel American Insurance (marine insurance) and/or an inspecting/surveying company called "TMS National"? Ask yourself these questions: Did it take an exceedingly long period of time for Markel/TMSN to respond to your claim? After responding, did TMSN drag their feet, and cost you time and money? Did a TMSN representitive discount your claim as non-insurable? Did you receive a TMSN report that made little or no sense, only to disallow your reasonable claim? Did any representitive offer settlement (it's illegal for them to do so)? Did any TMSN rep threaten to render your vessel as uninsurable if you didn't comply with their settlement? Markel American and TMSN are allegedly working together to spoil legitimate claims and settle for mere pennies on the dollar, knowing most boat owners won't hire a maritime attorney because of high fees. The ploy is to wear down the claimant's patience, finances and stamina, then offer a pathetically low ammount hoping the owner will settle just to end the nightmare. Legitimate claims are being either denied or discounted by TMSN in order for them to make higher commissions from Markel (allegedly) and they are doing this to me on an obvious lightning claim. I'm seeking others who are in or were in the same situation with these companies, and may file a class-action suit if there is a large enough response. If any of the above questions apply and you are interested in finding out more, please write Capt. Bill White at . |

James says:
How much was the cost of the insurance?.... compared to other companies? Did you perhaps get what you paid for? Heavens forfend that such a thought should enter the head of anyone pur-suing (semi-pun intended) the course this fellow is. I'm still waiting for someone to sue Taco Bell because their food looks much bigger in the adverts than it is in real life. Grow up, people! Steve |

No to all the questions. I had one towing claim with Markel and they paid it
immediately with no hassles. -- Keith __ Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it. wrote in message news:415d51b8.15515540@localhost...
