Default Force L-Drive / MerCruiser 3.0L

Is is possible replace a ForceL-Drive powerhead unit with a MerCruiser
3.0L and keep the same lower unit with minimum changes to the
scructure of the boat.

I have a bayliner capri 2001 model 1850 and will sell it depending on
this. I like the boat design, but do not want to get stucked with an
engine that is hard to find parts and lacks on reliability. Even
though I haven't had any major problems with it yet.

Thanks
Marco
