It was the last war we were ever attacked first and the last war that the Congress declared. I still question whether the US won because of all the territory that fell into the hands of tyranny. The world was less free after the war than before. I think the US should go to war only if Congress declares it. The only war the US should have ever been involved in was the Revolutionary War. All the other wars were unecessary, no matter how many times Canada tried to invade. |

My point Jon, is the number of friends I lost to the Japs in the Pacific
while we were fighting in the European Theatre and retreating all over the Pacific Theatre. Which enemy of the Axis Powers was it that actually Attack us? I can't ever remember Germany or Italy ever attacking American Territory. It seemed to me at the time we were concentrating on the wrong enemy, I still feel the same after 66 years. A rather stupid question Jon, Your saying the Jap weren't the enemy that
Hitler was? I don't remember Hilter's forces killing American civilians but I do know the Japs did. At Pearl and after in the Philippines! I guess it's time for me to ask;"What's your Point?" You don't have to answer. I'll not continue to discuss this issue with you. I know now you considered those deaths in the Pacific expendable lives so that we could save England's ass. As the English were so guick to say about Americans; Over paid, over sexed and over here. I'm afraid it's something I lived. |

Saddam Hussein was one such source. No, he was not! Quite the opposite. Saddam, while not a nice guy, was perhaps the biggest deterrent to the expansion of the real enemy - radical Islam - in the region. He had no ties to the religious radicals who perp'ed 9/11 - rather he and his secular regime were their bitter enemies. Well, we are free to not pay taxes to King George III Of course, technically it was not the U.S. military but the Continental Army and lots of state militias which won that for us Prior to 1865, about 20% of the population were slaves... freedom for them was won by the U.S. military Prior to 1920, about 51% of the population were not allowed to vote. The U.S. military had nothing to do with winning that freedom. So 1 out of 3 ain't bad ;) DSK |
