You people don't seem to remember to well.

North Africa.

Yeah, and we declared war on Hitler after he declared war on us, Hitler and
Japan being aligned. What's your point?

My point Jon, is the number of friends I lost to the Japs in the Pacific
while we were fighting in the European Theatre and retreating all over
the Pacific Theatre.

Which enemy of the Axis Powers was it that actually Attack us? I can't
ever remember Germany or Italy ever attacking American Territory. It
seemed to me at the time we were concentrating on the wrong enemy, I
still feel the same after 66 years.

That Jon is; "MY POINT"

A rather stupid question Jon, Your saying the Jap weren't the enemy that
Hitler was? I don't remember Hilter's forces killing American
civilians but I do know the Japs did. At Pearl and after in the
Philippines!

I guess it's time for me to ask;"What's your Point?"

You don't have to answer. I'll not continue to discuss this issue with
you. I know now you considered those deaths in the Pacific expendable
lives so that we could save England's ass.

As the English were so guick to say about Americans; Over paid, over
sexed and over here. I'm afraid it's something I lived.

Never said that. What you said was that Hitler was the wrong enemy, and I
asked why. Doesn't seem stupid to me.

Iraq wasn't an enemy of the US, yet we attacked. That was my point.

I know now you considered those deaths in the Pacific expendable

Huh? That makes no sense.

As the English were so guick to say about Americans; Over paid, over
sexed and over here. I'm afraid it's something I lived.

So, you would have preferred that England fell to Hitler, and we should have
sat on our collective butts getting ready to attack Japan? How many millions
more would have died?

President Roosevelt would have led the U.S. into the war sooner,
probably with a quicker & better outcome, but he was strongly opposed
by Republicans.... some of whom opposed him out of isolationist
principles, some out of snotty partisanship, and others because they
were profitably trading with the Axis...

Actually, a German U-boat did surface off the East Coast, and shelled
US territory. Another U-boat once mined New York Harbor. You can
look these up.

I'm Horvath and I approve of this post.

Before the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor?

I didn't think so.

The sinking of the Reuben James occured months before.
