Best Sailing Software???
I wanna race! My wife is a beginner and needs basic practice. I've
seen several software packages on the Net, but does one suit both our needs. Most of my actual sailing will be on a Catalina 22, 27 or 250, so something matching this would be preferred. Is there a software that will be good for both of us? |

Instead of using a computer, the best thing to do would be go and get on a boat... beer can races, whatever. You or she will learn a lot faster than sitting in front of a computer screen. It's just not the same thing. On the boat, she'll be assigned a position, probably rail meat, and probably progress from there. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com |

The thing to do is go out & sail, practice the basics until they are second nature, and sail/race with the best sailors you can. That said, I've enjoyed Posey's sailing simulator. The graphics aren't the hottest thing around but it reflects what actually happens. Virtual Skipper can be fun too but it's more like a video game, nice graphics. Fresh Breezes- Doug King |
