The Meade MaxMount, a custom made telescope displayed at the 2007 CES easily fits in my Toyota Corolla but will not fit into a Subaru Impreza. SMACKDOWN!!!!!! |

The Corolla is an outstanding value for your kids. 5 star crash rating
for the passenger and the driver. 4 stars for rear. There are 5 star cars available now, so why buy a Corolla? It also has average handling and no AWD. Buy a Legacy 2.5i or GT or any good car with 5 stars all around. Don't get a Corolla or Impreza...unless you want an STI or something fun like that! RB 35s5 NY |

do you ever see anyone looking back at you?
Scotty "Bob Crantz" wrote in message ... Donal, I forgot to mention that my Meade telescope is a custom built one of a kind, made just for the Consumer Electronics Show. It was assembled by a telescope maker of intertional repute, using the highest grade COTS optics. It is not a factory Meade. I even had a concrete pad made just for the scope which sit upon concrete pylons sunk 20 feet into the earth. Next is the structure to put around it! I can remotely control with an extended bus from my computer and replaced the eyepiece with a high quality scientific camera. I hope to have it all together by September and will put up some pictures on my website. I'm linking it with the local school so students can RC the telescope/camera at night, it's pretty easy to do since I helped set up their remote weather station too. The Corolla is an outstanding value for your kids. 5 star crash rating for the passenger and the driver. To get that in a Subaru Impreza you would have to sit in the passenger seat and drive plus spend another 100% for the car and 100% more for the lackluster fuel economy. You just can't beat a Corolla for value. |

"Capt. Rob" wrote in message ps.com... Unlike the Fat One, I actually use my telescope!! Bad pic, Donal. I used my scope last night and I now own a very high quality custom Starsplitter. It's a better scope than yours and I'm now living under true dark skies. Well, I must say that I am truly envious! Every astronomer can only dream of owning a "Starsplitter". Why should we spend soooo much money buying inferior products when we could be the proud owner of a "Starsplitter" for just a few bucks? And I didn't miss two years of sailing because I couldn't handle my kids either. You can bet I'll do better when Thomas is older. I bet!! I'm glad you admitted you haven't sailed much in two years! WOW! The sad part is that you actually wrote, "What more could a man want?" Again...wow. Small dreams I guess. I'm contented with what I have.... with what I do .... and with what I am. You???? Around and about.... Music and astronomy are taking up most of my evening hours.... so I haven't had much time for the computer. Glad to see you back if only for a brief visit. Unlike the Fat One, I actually use my telescope!! This is a recent examplehttp://www.lanode.com/priv/astro/m64.jpg Great pic. Is that really NGC4826? My sailing has been limited for the last couple of years, because my teenage sons were too old to come sailing with us, and they were too young to leave at home unsupervised!! This year, we are going sailing again. My wife has actually asked to go out on the boat. What more could a man want? A new boat! Although spending more time on the water is always a plus. Yes, of course it is. I'm almost insulted that you should ask!! However, I must admit that it has been very difficult to get enough exposure on anything this year. Clouds seem to be present on about 5 nights out of seven.
